Abergavenny Distinctiveness Study
The attractive market town of Abergavenny is famous for its annual Food Festival. A TEAM Tourism study has now identified the opportunity to position Abergavenny as a leading food tourism town.
The Abergavenny Food Festival attracts visitors from throughout the UK and internationally. However, there is currently a disconnect between this powerful brand and the reality of the local food offer. The Distinctiveness Study proposes a roadmap for transforming the town – year round, in both image and reality – into a food tourism capital for eastern Wales.
The study is being undertaken in collaboration with food tourism experts Jackie Ellis, Hilary Knight and Andrew Lloyd-Hughes. David Ward-Perkins’s role has been to draft the strategic plan and economic justification for investment.
